Jeff ~ Yeah buddy! I have ADHD & I'm proud of it. In grade school I was the kid that was swinging off the the blinds and jumping off walls. My Mum was studying to be a child phycologist and she came to my school and asked the administration to send up the worst kid in the school...five minutes later I was up in the office. I will never forget my Mum's look on her face! She was like "Oh my God!" I was like "Hey whats up!" I remeber my 3rd grade teacher sat me down and said "Ethan you have ADHD. Do you know what that is?" Well i was 8! So heck no! "Honey it means you your brain works to fast for you thinker. That's what causes you to act up" What!?!? I act up!? Seriously!?! Here I was thinking I was just a normal kid! haha. When I first understood exactly what ADHD was I went to the bookstore to get a book on ADHD. Well I walk in and forget what I was there for. I just stood there for like 10 minutes then finally went over to the desk clerk and asked where the physcology section was. I head over there and about half way ever I got distracted by the photography section, I started looking though a filp book of frog pictures...well I ended up getting a Mexican cook book instead. I walk out and head to get a shake when I realized I DIDN'T GET THE BOOK! So I walk all the way back and my book is sitting on the counter. I pick it up and start out when I realize this wasn't even what I came here for! So I walk back AGAIN...look for two seconds and decide I was to bored so I walked right back out! Well at least my diagnosis was right on! Haha well thanks for a good laugh Jeff!

Jeff,

Why I Hate School is the title of a book that sums it up for many of these bright, funny kids. Over the years, I have taught K-5, third and fourth. Administrators were not always crazy about it, but clip boards and being allowed out of their seats often helped these kids a great deal...they can do long division hanging upside down. I have seen it. I am not kidding! Sitting in a chair that's attached to a desk...not a natural habitat for a lot of these high-energy kids. Modifications are not difficult to do.

My husband and I recently heard you on Family Life Radio. We rejoice with you. We truly serve a God of Restoration!

We owe it to all our kids to help them achieve.
Thank you for advocating for all children and families

heard your routine on blue collar radio last nite on my way to chicago. loved it. laughter is the best medicine no matter what the affliction. Personally have dealt with muscle issues from whiplash but have several grandchildren. patience is the only virtue worth having . without it you would never catch the glimpse of the virtues possessed by these children. My son feared the day the second child entered the school system. surprise they discovered what only a grandma knew. Common sense and gut reaction is a rare characteristic that few posess. That wit and perception is like a breath of fresh air. They discovered that the so called hyperactive child was a perfect student quick to understand without lengthy explanation. trust is a wonderful thing along with the opportunity to observe without preconceived notions based on falacies.
